Taichung

With almost 3 million residents Taichung is the second largest city in Taiwan. No visit would be complete without exploring the rainbow village. A local artist and former soldier started painting his home and surounding baracks to, in his own words, "bring joy to people". The 921 Earthquake Museum tells the story of the devastating 1999 earthquake that struck Taiwan. The museum was built around a destroyed school and features a room-sized structure that simulates the shaking of an earthquake. July 11, 2023
